Illustrated talk about Grace Kimmins founder of Chailey Heritage

September 22, 2018 //  by Lynn Tulip//  Leave a Comment

Hear the amazing story of Grace Kimmins (1870 – 1954), a forceful, charismatic woman who established a pioneering craft school for the disabled at Chailey in 1903. She instilled in the pupils a determination to focus on what they could achieve, not on what they couldn’t.

The Chailey Heritage Foundation, which was founded as the Chailey Heritage, is an English charity that owns and runs the Chailey Heritage School. It was founded out of the Guild of the Poor Brave Things in 1903 by Dame Grace Kimmins.

The foundation specialises in support of children and young people with complex physical disabilities and health needs – predominantly through the Chailey Heritage School. There will be a collection for Chailey Heritage at the talk.
